Lenexa jewelry show features work by area artists

Just in time for Valentine’s Day! Come to the fifth annual Cupid’s Gems jewelry show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4 to shop for the perfect presents for girlfriends, sisters, moms or daughters.

A juried event featuring the handiwork of nearly 30 local jewelry artists, visitors to the show can shop booths featuring a variety of handmade jewelry at a wide range of prices. The distinctive designs include fully handcrafted sterling silver jewelry, genuine pearls, hand-blown glass pendants and modern southwestern jewelry created using turquoise, copper and natural stones. Shoppers may also select items made from fun, funky found objects, chandelier crystals, peacock feathers, antique buttons and blown beads.

The event takes place at the Lenexa Conference Center. The Right Bite will offer menu items for purchase in a bistro-like eating area located on the ground floor of the conference center.

The Lenexa Conference Center is located inside the restored Thompson Barn, just south of the intersection of College Boulevard and Lackman Road.

Plenty of free, onsite parking is available, and admission to the show is free. For more information, call the Lenexa Community Center at 913.477.7100.
