A retail liquor license is required in order to operate a retail liquor store in Lenexa. Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. (CST) on any day when the sale of alcoholic liquors is permitted. Liquor stores are closed on Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
Before applying for a Lenexa retail liquor license, you’ll need to purchase a Kansas Alcoholic Liquor License from the State of Kansas Department of Revenue, Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control. Contact their office at 785.368.8222.
How to apply
Bring your state license, a completed city business license application form and payment of the city retail liquor license fee to City Hall. Upon approval, a city license will be issued for the period covered by your state license. State licenses are valid for two years from the date of issuance.
