Old Town Lenexa, Santa Fe Trail Drive & Pflumm
Enjoy a 9-mile, closed-course bike ride down 95th Street from Old Town Lenexa through the Meritex caves. Decorate your bicycle in lights for this fun family ride, sponsored in partnership with the Lenexa Optimist Club.

Participate in the “Light the Night” contest at 9:30 p.m., and grab a bite to eat at the pancake feed after the ride for a $6 donation.

In order to participate, you will be required to wear a helmet, and your bicycle must have a front light and rear reflector.

Road closures

To maintain a safe course for event participants and spectators, several roads in the area will be closed to traffic or have restricted access on July 21, 2018:

8 p.m. to 2 a.m.

  • Santa Fe Trail Drive closed from 95th Street to Pflumm Road.
9:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.
  • 98th Street closed west of Britton Street to Meritex Lenexa Executive Park.
  • Britton Street closed from 95th Street to 98th Street.
  • Prairie Star Parkway closed from Britton Street to Legler Road.
  • Legler Road closed from 95th Street to 99th Street.
  • 99th Street closed from Legler Road to Santa Fe Trail Drive.
  • Santa Fe Trail Drive closed from 95th Street to 99th Street.

Moonlight Bike Ride road closures


  • Register by July 1: $20 per adult; $15 per child 12 and under.

  • After July 2: $25 per adult; $20 per child 12 and under.

  • You will receive a Moonlight Bike Ride T-shirt as part of your registration fee. We will honor size requests to the extent possible.

Packet pickup

Pick up your ride packet at the Lenexa Community Center during the following times:

  • 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, July 20

  • 8 to 9:30 p.m., Saturday, July 21
