Frequently asked questions

What do I get with my membership?

Core Pass members have access to all of the facility amenities and drop-in activities (pickleball, Gym for Me, Splash with Me).

Amenities include: indoor pool, activity gym, lobby with free Wi-Fi, two-court gymnasium, cardio and strength fitness equipment and indoor track.

X Pass membership includes access to all of the facility amenities (see above), drop-in activities (pickleball, Gym for Me, Splash with Me) plus all Group X fitness classes. Members also receive a 10% discount on all Lenexa Rec Center specific programs and services, such as personal training, child watch, birthday parties, pro shop items and general recreation programs at the Lenexa Rec Center.

Classes

Group X classes listed on the Group X schedule are included in the X Pass membership. Core Pass members pay per visit to attend a Group X class or purchase a punch card. X Pass members can attend unlimited Group X classes.

Specialty fitness classes will be fee-based for both X Pass and Core Pass members. These are classes that are separate from the Group X schedule. They will be session-based and will be more technical and specialized in nature.

Can I bring a guest?

You are welcome to bring a guest any time you visit the Rec Center. If your guest is not a member, they will need to purchase a day pass. Single day passes are $10 or $8 with the resident discount.

Do you offer SilverSneakers or other health-insurance-related program?

We have reached out to SilverSneakers and requested to be an approved facility. They have explained to us that the area is oversaturated with approved facilities, and in order for us to be considered, they need to hear from the public.

They advised that any individuals from the community who would like to see Lenexa Rec Center as part of the SilverSneakers program do one of the two:

  • Visit https://onlinesubmission.healthways.com and recommend “Lenexa Rec Center” become an approved SilverSneaker facility.

  • Call 1.888.423.4632 and recommend “Lenexa Rec Center” become an approved SilverSneaker facility.

For additional questions, please e-mail TheRec@lenexa.com.

What is considered a household?

A household is defined as up to five people, all residing within the same residence, one of which must be at least 18 years of age. Individuals over age 18 must prove they reside in the household.

The easiest way to do this is to provide a driver’s license with your address or some form of verified mail (not junk mail) received at your home

Can I get a pass to a specific area of the facility?

No, we do not sell passes to specific areas of the facility. Our memberships and single-day passes give you access to the entire building, given that age requirements are met.

How do I cancel my membership?

You need to complete a membership cancellation request as well as provide 30 days' notice.

Keep in mind that if you request to cancel your membership within 30 days of your next automatic payment, you will be responsible for that next payment.

You will continue to have access to your membership privileges through the 30 days.

What happens if I lose my membership card?

You can purchase a new membership card from the front desk for $5.

Why do I have to pay a membership fee when I pay taxes?

A portion of sales tax dollars went toward constructing the facility. The Lenexa Rec Center will cover operational costs through user-driven revenues. This includes memberships, programs, rentals and other services offered.
