To file a claim against the city

K.S.A. 12-105b and the Kansas Code of Civil Procedure contain specific requirements and procedures that must be followed in asserting certain claims against the city. View a copy of K.S.A. 12-105b at http://www.kslegislature.org

  • Submit a signed, original claim to the City Clerk:

  • You may choose to use the City Claim Form; however, you are not required to use this form and it is not intended to provide you with legal advice. You are encouraged to carefully review the statutes and consult with legal counsel of your choosing.
  • Failure to file your claim correctly may result in denial as the city is required by state law to reject any claim that is not filed in accordance with the provisions of K.S.A. 12-105b.
  • The city has 120 days to respond to your claim, and a claim is deemed denied if the city does not approve it in its entirety within 120 days.
