The Lenexa Arts Council celebrated the artistic talent of youth in our community by exhibiting the first High School Student Art Show in the
City Hall art gallery during March 2019.
High school students were invited to apply for the juried art show featuring 2D and 3D art. This show was open to students who live in any school district that serves Lenexa, including homeschool students. An art teacher had to sponsor each entry.
Eleven artists submitted a total of 16 pieces. Awards were announced at a public reception on March 28, 2019. Arts Council members were proud of the quality of art submitted in the inaugural show and are excited to see how the show evolves and grows over time.
Winners and honorable mentions received cash prizes.
