The 2012 Lenexa Chili Challenge will be held on October 19 and 20 in Old Town Lenexa (at the corner of Santa Fe Trail Drive and Pflumm Road). More than 170 teams compete in two divisions: Chili Appreciation Society International (C.A.S.I.) and Home Style Chili. Contestants may also compete in the Salsa Division and Hot Wing contest.
Chili contestants arrive on Friday afternoon to begin setting up their booths. The festivities begin at 6 p.m. on Friday night with live music and entertainment, fireworks, games and activities for all ages. The contest begins Saturday at 9 a.m. and concludes at 4 p.m. with the announcement of the winners.
