May is Music Month

Music is in the air as our community celebrates May is Music Month!

Lenexa Outdoor Concert Series. Enjoy free concerts on Sunday evenings starting in May at this new event sponsored by the Lenexa Arts Council. View schedule.

Lenexa Art Fair. Enjoy live jazz music, shop at more than 50 fine art booths, and sample wines and craft beers from Kansas wineries and craft brewers at the second annual event on May 9 at Central Green Park. Admission to the Art Fair is free. Admission to the wine and craft beer tasting is $20. View details.

Movie in the Park. Bring your lawn chairs or blanket for a musical movie, lawn games, live music and more. Featured film is "Annie" (original version), sponsored by the Lenexa Arts Council. Admission is free. View details.

Dino O'Dell. Kids will love this free concert filled with kid-friendly, interactive songs. The concert is on May 4 at 11 a.m. at the Community Center.

Rockin' Rob Music and Movement (ages 6 months - 5 years). Parents and children learn through music, movement and storytelling. Classes are held on May 4, 11 and 18 as well as June 1, from 10:30-11:05 a.m. at the Community Center. View details or register.

Senior Movie Mondays. Seniors will love the musical movies selected for the month of May. Movies begin at 12:15 p.m. Admission is free; pre-registration is required. Call. 913-477-7100.

Senior Dances. Enjoy live music by Roland and the Playboys on May 4, 11 and 18 at the Lenexa Community Center. Admission is $5 per person at the door.

Mariachi Duo. Festive live music sets the tone for this fun FIESTA on May 7 at the Lenexa Senior Center. The party starts at noon and includes a delicious taco lunch, games and more. View details or register.

Birthday Entertainment. "Crimson Blues" (guitar and singing duet) will entertain seniors for the monthly birthday celebration at 12:15 p.m. on May 13 at the Senior Center. Admission is free.
