Ad Astra Park
A 10-acre park located at 8265 Maurer Road, next to Christa McAuliffe Elementary School. Ad Astra Park has one reservable shelter, one restroom facility, natural area, one playground area, one large swimming pool with diving area, .7-mile jogging/walking trail which connects to Stone Ridge Trail to the north, horseshoe pits and a large open play area.

The Ad Astra Park shelter accommodates groups of up to 80 people and includes two BBQ grills, 10 picnic tables (80 people seated), electricity, water fountain, restrooms located at the pool, close parking and trash receptacles. Call 913.477.7100 for more information.

Black Hoof Park / Lake Lenexa
A 160-acre park with a 35-acre, deep-water Lake Lenexa. The park is located on Monticello Road between 93rd St and Monticello, at 9053 Monticello Road.

This park offers a unique dam and spillway, trails, picnic shelter, playground and boat launch for small non-motorized boats. Experience beautiful nature and observe the wide variety of wildlife – deer, coyotes, red foxes, birds, butterflies, rattlesnakes, frogs and lizards in their natural habitats.

Bois D’Arc Park
A four-acre park located at 88th and Lackman Road. Bois D'Arc Park has one reservable shelter, four tennis courts, 1/2 basketball court and one playground area. The shelter accommodates groups of up to 32 people and includes two BBQ grills, four picnic tables (32 people seated), drinking fountain, no restrooms, close parking and trash receptacles. Bradshaw Park
A one-acre park located at Santa Fe Trail Drive and Noland Road. On May 25, 1869 Squire Charles A. and Sarah Bradshaw gave land to the Missouri River, Fort Scott and Gulf Railroad for the establishment and maintenance of a railroad station. This property became a Lenexa park and was originally named Santa Fe Trail Park. The park was renamed in honor of the Bradshaws. This park has one picnic table and a trash receptacle.

Buffalo Meadows Park
A 20-acre park located at Prairie Star Parkway and Lone Elm Road. Buffalo Meadows Park includes a parking lot, shelter, restroom facility, perimeter jogging/walking trail, large open play area and two playground areas. Call the Lenexa Community Center at 913.477.7100 for more information.

Cedar Station/Mize Lake Park
A 27-acre park located just south of Prairie Star Parkway on Canyon Creek Boulevard, Cedar Station Park is a great place to enjoy nature. Take a walk on the paved trail around Mize Lake to observe a wide variety of wildlife and native wildflowers. The wildflowers will bloom throughout the summer but early June is one of the best times to visit. The lake is stocked by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks.

Central Green
A 10-acre park located at 87th Street and Penrose Lane within City Center North. Central Green has an open play area, a large trail system that connects into Parkhurst, cascading ponds with stepping stones, natural areas and extensive landscaping.

Craig Crossing Park
A 15-acre park located at 91st and Woodland Road. Craig Crossing Park has one reservable shelter, one restroom facility, a jogging path that connects to Gary L. Haller Trail, a lake, drinking fountain and a parking lot. The shelter can accommodate groups of 30 people and includes two BBQ grills, four picnic tables, electricity, one drinking fountain, restrooms, close parking and trash receptacles. Electric Park
A 10-acre park located at 93rd and Loiret Blvd. Electric Park has one reservable shelter, one restroom facility, two playground areas, 1/2 basketball court, two horseshoe pits, two sand volleyball courts, .3-mile jogging/walking trail, a community garden and a large open play area. The shelter can accommodate groups of up to 48 people and includes two BBQ grills, six picnic tables (48 people seated), drinking fountain, restroom facility, electricity available, trash receptacles, close to playgrounds and parking. Flat Rock Creek Park
A 10-acre park located at 103rd and Hauser. Flat Rock Creek Park has two swimming pools and two tennis courts that were updated in 2010, a large natural area, .4-mile jogging/walking trail and one playground area. The tennis courts can be reserved for use or are available on a first-come, first-served basis. To reserve a court, call 913.477.7100.

The Santa Fe Trail crossed Rock Creek here and some early journals kept by travelers on the trail referred to the "Flat Rock Creek Camp Ground." One large oak tree at the site is estimated to be over 100 years old, indicating it would have been there when the Santa Fe Trail was in use.

Freedom Fields
A 25-acre park located at 83rd and Monticello Road just east of K-7. Freedom Fields has four baseball/softball fields, seven multi-use sports fields, a restroom and parking lot. This park is slated for improvements in 2012.

At 83rd and Quivira just east of Resurrection Cemetery. Hidden Woods Park features a small lake that is stocked by Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks. Little Mill Creek North Park
A 34-acre park located at 79th Street and Cottonwood. Little Mill Creek North Park features 9 multi-sports athletic fields, a .8-mile jogging/walking trail, parking lot and numerous natural areas. The north portion of this park was recently developed using 3/8 cents sales tax funding. Little Mill Creek South Park
A 14-acre linear park that runs from 79th and Mullen to 83rd and Mullen. Little Mill Creek South Park includes two practice softball fields, one practice soccer field, numerous natural areas, a unique Catalpa Grove and .6-mile jogging/walking trail.

A linear park with walking trail, improved streamway and extensive native plantings, located off the southwest corner of Prairie Star Parkway and Lone Elm Road.
Matt Taylor Park
A 3.1-acre park located at 82nd Terrace and Rosehill Road. Matt Taylor Park includes four lighted tennis courts, one reservable shelter house, one basketball court and two playground areas. The shelter can accommodate groups of up to 64 people, and includes one BBQ grill, eight picnic tables (64 people seated), electricity, drinking fountain, no restrooms, close parking and trash receptacles. In 2010, Matt Taylor Park received complete renovations for the tennis courts, including new surfacing, new fencing and state of the art lighting.

A 25-acre park located at 85th Street and Renner Road. Parkhurst is a linear neighborhood park bordered by a stream and the Parkhurst subdivision, with a walking trail that connects to Shawnee Mission Park. The park features two playgrounds and wildflowers planted along the stream.

Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park has one swimming pool, a three-acre lake, a gazebo/bandstand, five picnic areas, six reservable shelters, four jogging/walking trails, three soccer 1/2 fields, five playground areas, six open play areas, two sand volleyball courts, four lighted tennis courts, a basketball court, a baseball field, three restroom facilities, two park maintenance barns, a Park Supervisor's house, community garden, Legler Barn Historical Museum, railroad caboose, restored railroad museum and a restored Strang Line waiting station.
