Gambling Casino Trip (Mayetta, KS)
Feb. 22 and July 19, 2017

Travel by motor-coach to Prairie Band Casino in Mayetta, north of Topeka. Trip includes four-hour gaming session and $10 in gaming money. Register by Feb. 15 or June 30. $22.


BBQ & Brews (Kansas City)
Feb. 25, 2017

Kansas City is known around the world for its great barbecue. Don’t miss this fun, historical presentation on all things Kansas City BBQ from Gates to Jack Stack, followed by a guided tour through KC and lunch at the famous Arthur Bryant’s. Enjoy a cold beer as we make stops along the way to discuss, tour, and taste some of KC's local brews. Register by Jan. 25. $69.


New Theatre Restaurant: "Boeing, Boeing" (Overland Park, KS)

Journey Through Time (Pompeii Exhibit at Union Station and World War I Museum)
April 7, 2017

Relive the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius and the rediscovery of Pompeii in an all-new exhibition at Kansas City’s Union Station. The exhibit features nearly 200 artifacts, including frescoes, mosaics, statues and precious personal objects. Trip includes lunch and a guided tour of the WWI Museum and memorial. Kansas Belle Mystery Dinner Train (Baldwin City, KS)

All aboard! This beautifully restored train will take you back to the 1940s as you settle in and relax in the seating area. Underground Salt Mine (Hutchinson, KS)
June 15, 2017

Journey 650 feet below ground, where it is a comfortable 68 degrees year round. Learn about the history of salt mining in Kansas and take a tram tour through museum galleries showing thousands of uses for salt. Then, tour Dr. Robert Goddard’s Lab at the Kansas Cosmosphere and see a live science show packed with surprises. Lunch (included) is at Carriage Crossing restaurant in Yoder, KS. Million Dollar Quartet is the new smash-hit musical inspired by the famed recording session that brought together rock 'n' roll icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins for the first and only time. Art & Wine Adventure IV (Hermann & Washington, MO)
Sept. 21–22, 2017

Relax and enjoy the beautiful rolling countryside aboard an AmTrak train to Hermann. Enjoy wine tastings at three area wineries, then head to Washington, for a sunset dinner by the river and spend the night. The next day, tour Meerschaum’s Corn Pipe Company, Gary Lucy Art Gallery, or St. Francis Borgia Church, go shopping in downtown Washington, visit two more wineries, and travel home via AmTrak. Opryland USA (Nashville, TN)

Lenexa Trip Refund Policy

A full refund will be issued for any trip that is canceled by the City of Lenexa. A full refund will be honored if your spot can be filled prior to the deadline date. Because of advance payment requirements on many of our trips, refunds may not be available. Any refund request must be made with advance notice. A $5 processing fee will be accessed for any cancellation by the participant. Trip insurance is available for purchase on overnight stays (please contact the trip coordinator at least two months prior to the trip for insurance info and fees). Person deemed harmful to themselves, others, or trip quality may be removed, with transportation home at their own expense. Lenexa Parks & Recreation reserves the right to make changes necessary to preserve the integrity of the trip.
