Dumpster Days

If you are a Lenexa resident, you can dispose of bulky items at our Dumpster Days event, which is held two weekends each year. You will be asked to show proof of residency (such as a driver’s license or utility bill showing a current Lenexa address).

Drop-off location

Municipal Services Service Center
7700 Cottonwood St., Lenexa, KS 66215

The Service Center is located across from Mill Creek Elementary School, between Lackman and Pflumm, with access from 79th Street.

• Appliances (those containing Freon cost $75 each)
• Ballasts
• Cardboard
• Electronics ($20 per monitor or $35 per TV)
• Furniture
• Lamps
• Lawn mowers
• Light fixtures
• Mattresses
• Smoke detectors
• Styrofoam
• Tires ($5 per tire)
• Yard waste

Items not accepted

• Chemicals
• Commercial or industrial waste
• Fluorescent tubes
• Fuel tanks
• Household trash
• Hazardous waste (e.g., batteries, waste oil, paint)
• Liquids
• Propane bottles

Fees

We charge fees to cover recycling, disposal and transportation costs. We collect these fees at the gate entrance of the drop-off facility. You can pay with cash, check (write driver’s license number on the check) or credit card (VISA, MasterCard and Discover) each time you use the service.
