If you have visited the new Lenexa City Hall, you've likely admired artwork created by Lenexa residents that has been on display in the art gallery since the building opened July 31. The diverse collection of two- and three-dimensional pieces are part of the 26th annual Lenexa Artists' Show, a juried exhibition and the first art presented in the new gallery space. The City of Lenexa held a reception and awards ceremony to honor these talented hometown artists on Sept. 21.

Here are the awardees:

Honorable Mention: Marci Blank for “Lenexa 2016” (fiber) 
Honorable Mention: David Zentz for “Untitled 2” (wood)        
Honorable Mention: Linda Laughlin for “Space Junk” (jewelry)
Honorable Mention: Bethany Thomas for “Sunshine” (photography)
Honorable Mention: Connie Calkins for “Oceana” (stained glass)
Second Place 2-D: William Spreadbury for “Prague” (photo art)
First Place 2-D: Beverly Amundson for “Harbinger of Fall” (pastel)
Second Place 3-D: Jess Collins for “Tin Year” (wood and metal sculpture)
First Place 3-D: Kris Coyan for “In Search of Flash Gordon” (wood)
Second Place Photography: Wendy Delzeit for “Night Carnival” (metal photo print)
First Place Photography: Andrew Krob for “Devil Dog” (photo)
Arts Council’s Choice (new award): Catherine Kirkland for “Roman” (acrylic on linen)
Best of Show: Shannon Manning for “Peggy’s Cove” (triptych)
