Looking for opportunities for your kiddo to show off their Halloween costume this year? There are plenty of opportunities right here in Lenexa during the last few weeks of October.

Enchanted Forest

Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018

5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park, 87th Street Parkway & Lackman Road.

If you’re looking for more than just trick-or-treating, this is the place to be. Lenexa’s Enchanted Forest features something for everyone, including puppets, musicians, singers and other performers all along the trail around the pond. You’ll see seasonal displays, visit with friendly characters and enjoy the performances at your leisure.

Pro tips:

  • Bring a flashlight or glow sticks, as the park gets dark after the sun goes down.

  • Enchanted Forest is not a trick-or-treating event. But if you are looking for candy, head over to the sponsor area, where they will have sweet treats while supplies last.

  • Parking is available in lots surrounding the park, but we encourage you to talk or carpool

Truck or Treat with Municipal Services

Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018

8 to 11 a.m.

Lenexa Municipal Services Center, 7700 Cottonwood St.

You love Halloween. You love touch-a-truck. So, we combined them into the first Truck or Treat with Lenexa Municipal Services event! You can enjoy a morning full of fun while learning about what our Municipal Services Department does. Kids can check out monstrous trucks up close, watch equipment demonstrations and help paint snow plows.

Pro tips:

  • Halloween costumes are encouraged, and candy will be available for early-morning trick-or-treaters!

  • Park in the Little Mill Creek North Park parking lot for the easiest access to the event.

No Trick, Our Treat: Not Your Mummy’s Halloween House Party

Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018

5 to 9 p.m.

Lenexa Public Market, 8750 Penrose Lane

Bring the whole family for a free, fun event featuring games, artists, candy, dancing and music at the Lenexa Public Market. There will be fun for all ages and a costume contest with prizes awarded!

Pro tips:

  • Come hungry, as delicious food will be available from our merchants throughout the event – and the Market has something for every taste – Mexican, pizza, barbecue, Asian, Indian-Pakistani, and coffee!

  • Parking is available in the parking garage southwest of the building. Due to construction, the easiest access is from Winchester Street.

Halloween Night

Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018

We do not have specified trick-or-treating hours in Lenexa, but generally trick-or-treating begins at dusk and ends at parents’ discretion. Please respect your neighbors and be courteous and safe when you and your children are out and about collecting candy:

  • Wrap up your trick-or-treating at a reasonable time

  • Respect your neighbors’ lawns and landscaping and use sidewalks when you can

  • Wear reflective/glowing items so that drivers can see you

  • Make sure to look both ways before crossing streets
