City Center Live logoThe new Johnson County Library branch on Lenexa’s civic campus will bring many exciting opportunities for collaboration. Even before the Lenexa City Center Library opens in mid-2019, we’re partnering up for a new performing arts series.

City Center Live will feature a variety of free music and small theatrical performances throughout the year. Events will take place on Friday nights at 7 p.m. The first three performances will be held in the Community Forum at Lenexa City Hall. Grab a drink or bite to eat from the Lenexa Public Market and come see the show!

  • Jan. 11: Sisters & Strings Infusion (keys, cello, violin, guitar and rhythm)
  • Feb. 15: Opera180 will perform “Knoxville: Summer of 1915” by Samuel Barber, performed by Ashley Wheat; “Bon Appetit,” a one-art opera about Julia Child by Lee Hoiby; and a talkback session with the audience. Opera
  • March 8: Mess (indie rock band)
The series is a program of the Johnson County Library and Lenexa Arts Council.
