Complete Streets Plan workshop set for March 21
Posted on 03/01/2019

Do you drive, walk, bike or use transit in Lenexa? Take a look and give your feedback on recommendations for Lenexa’s Complete Streets Plan at a public workshop on March 21.

City of Lenexa staff have been working with a consultant team since the summer of 2018 to develop a Complete Streets Plan for key enhancements that considers all users of our transportation network – including drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists and transit users – to increase safety, comfort and efficiency for all ages and lifestyles.

The Complete Streets Study’s final public workshop will be held March 21 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Thompson Barn, 11184 Lackman Road. At this informal session, Lenexa staff and consultants will share draft recommendations and concepts and have an interactive conversation with the public about the proposed plan.

The draft concepts that will be presented at this meeting were developed based on:

  • Public input from the first public workshop held in fall 2018.
  • Stakeholder interviews.
  • An online survey.
  • A statistically valid community survey facilitated by ETC Institute.
  • An extensive analysis of existing walking and bicycling conditions.

Public participation is encouraged at this interactive come-and-go event. Comment forms will be available during the workshop, and an online survey will be posted on the project page after the event.

Feedback gathered during and after the workshop will help finalize the Complete Streets Plan, which will be presented to the Governing Body in late spring or early summer.
