
Get an exciting, interactive look at law enforcement from members of the Lenexa Police Department at this year’s Youth Police Academy!
This free program will be offered twice this summer: June 10-14 and June 17-21. Classes take place from 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. and include lunch or snacks.
The program will cover age-appropriate topics including:

Drug investigation

Fraud

Internet crime

The K9 Unit

Tactical team

Traffic enforcement
There were also be some fun physical activities, like an obstacle course.
Participants must be 13-17 years old and live or attend school in Lenexa or have a parent/guardian who works in Lenexa. Applicants must have a minimal record of school discipline and limited/no police and criminal contact. The applicant’s school resource officers may be contacted as part of the screening process.
