“I chose to draw this as a creative way to depict just some of the beautiful nature of Lenexa that we see every day.”

First Place (ages 13–18)

Abbie Peters, “Hughes of Honey” (Acrylic on Canvas)

“Ever since I was little, going on walks and hikes with my dog has been one of my favorite activities... What I hope to capture through paintings is wonders of nature. Much like Georgia O’Keeffe, I want people to stop and admire the beauty around them.”

First Place (adult age category)

Lisa Coyan, “Autumn in Lenexa” (Jewelry)

“I love seeing the colors of autumn. When the leaves change to the brilliant reds, oranges and yellows, it generates spectacular scenery. I had an idea to create a 'pile' of leaves using my wire wrapping/weaving skills...”
