This year marks three decades of the Lenexa Artists' Show, honoring the work of 40 talented resident artists. The popular juried exhibit celebrates the remarkable creative talent here in Lenexa. The 2021 juried show features 64 pieces of 2D and 3D art in the first and second floor gallery spaces at Lenexa City Hall. 

Eleven of the show’s artists are participating for the first time, and four been in the show for a dozen or more years. And three sets of spouses entered the show together this year. 

Lenexa Artists' Show winners:

The show judges were Lisa Hirsch, an art teacher at Olathe Northwest High School, and Allison Bowman, a fine artist who works for the Arts Council of Johnson County. All participating artists were honored at a public reception on Aug. 26, 2021.

Second Place 3D: Abigail Peters, “Growth” (clay and glaze)

First Place Photography: Wesley Richardson, “Arvonia Night School”

Second Place Photography: Jim Cozad, “Spring Rhapsody” (print on silver metallic paper)

The Lenexa Artists’ Show is a program of the volunteer-driven Lenexa Arts Council. The exhibit is on display through Sept. 26, 2021, at the Lenexa City Hall art gallery, 17101 W. 87th St. Pkwy., Lenexa, KS 66219. The gallery is open Monday–Thursday: 6 a.m.–9 p.m., Friday and Saturday: 7 a.m.–10 p.m., Sunday: 7 a.m.–7 p.m.
