Kids' coloring contest: “Why I Like Lenexa Police”

Kids can show their appreciation of the Lenexa Police Department by entering a contest where they draw why “I Like Lenexa Police.” Winners of the contest will join Mayor Boehm and City Council members at the ceremonial groundbreaking for the new Justice Center on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 4:30 p.m.

Official entry contest sheets can be downloaded and printed. They are also available at these locations:

  • Lenexa Public Safety Complex
  • Lenexa City Hall
  • Lenexa Public Market
  • Lenexa Rec Center
  • Lenexa Community Center

The contest is open to children ages 12 and under. Entries are due by noon on Friday, Sept. 9, and can be submitted:

  • In person at the Lenexa Public Safety Complex
  • Mailed to the Lenexa Public Safety Complex (12500 W. 87th St. Pkwy., Lenexa, KS 66215)
  • By scanning the QR code on the entry form and uploading a photo of the contest entry.

Winners will be contacted Sept. 9 to ensure they can participate in the groundbreaking ceremony.

Lenexa's elected leaders, city staff and members of the community will celebrate the start of construction on the new Justice Center at the groundbreaking. The event begins at 4:30 p.m. with brief speeches at 4:45 p.m. This free event is open to the public and takes place at the future site of the Justice Center (Prairie Star Parkway and Britton Street).
