Diaper Drive: March 1-April 14

One in three families in the metro can’t afford diapers to keep their babies clean and dry. And safety net programs like food stamps and WIC don’t cover the cost of diapers.

From March 1–April 14, 2023, the City of Lenexa’s We Care Committee will collect diapers at select locations and compete in Happy Bottom’s diaper madness drive. Happy Bottoms is a local diaper agency that helps low-income families in the area. Their goal is to collect 300,000 diapers during this drive.

Drop off diapers at these City locations:

  • Lenexa City Hall (17101 W. 87th St. Pkwy.)
  • Lenexa Rec Center (17201 W. 87th St. Pkwy.)
  • Police Station (12500 W. 87th St. Pkwy.)
  • Lenexa Community Center (13420 Oak St.)
  • Lenexa Senior Center (13425 Walnut St.)
  • Municipal Services Service Center (7700 Cottonwood St.)
  • Fire Station No. 1 (9620 Pflumm Rd.)

If you have a child who has outgrown a size or is fully potty-trained, we will gladly accept loose and unpackaged diapers.

Other ways to donate

You can also give virtual diapers and monetary donations online. Be sure to use group name “Lenexa Cares” so your donation will go toward the City’s donation count, and we could win the Diaper Madness competition trophy (otherwise known as bragging rights).

The City of Lenexa’s We Care Committee is made up of representatives from each City department. The group organizes events and campaigns throughout the year to support area nonprofit organizations.
