Spend your Fourth of July with your neighbors and friends during two events in Lenexa: the Lenexa Freedom Run and the Lenexa Community Days Parade. Both events are held in Old Town Lenexa and bring the best of Lenexa’s small-town charm to the forefront.

Lenexa Freedom Run

Join 1,600 of your closest friends for a 5K or 10K. Our closed course is family-friendly, and we welcome runners, walkers and strollers at the Freedom Run.

Cost is $25 by July 3 or $30 on race day. Your registration fee includes a patriotic T-shirt (while supplies last).

Community Days Parade

After the Freedom Run, grab a lawn chair and stick around Old Town one of Lenexa’s favorite traditions, the Community Days Parade. Dozens of community organizations don the streets to show off their community spirit. This year’s theme is “Lenexa Through the Decades.”

There’s still time to be a part of the parade – you can register through June 27: Register your parade entry

This year, the parade route has changed slightly. This year, the route begins at Santa Fe Trail Drive and Park Street. It travels north of Park Street, east on 90th Place, south on Pflumm Road, east on Santa Fe Trail Drive, south on Noland Road, west on 94th Street and south on Pflumm Road to end at 95th Street and Pflumm.
