Description

The Lenexa Police Department Citizens’ Police Academy is a free course open to the public from Sept. 7 to Nov. 30, 2022. During the 12-week series, you'll gain an understanding of the structure and activities of the department and interact with officers. Topics covered include:

Patrol procedures
Unmanned aerial vehicles (drones)
Investigations
Traffic enforcement
K9 and tactical units
Firearms and use of force
Crime scene processing
School Resource Unit
Tours of the Adult Detention Center in Olathe and Johnson County Crime Lab (subject to availability)
