The Lenexa Planning Commission works on the following tasks:

• Review and make recommendations about planning and zoning issues in the city. 
  
  
• Reviews the Comprehensive Plan to ensure it continues to be relevant and responsive to changes in
  our vision, demographic trends and development patterns. 
  
  
• Make recommendations about rezoning, special use permits, and preliminary plan applications, which are then considered by the Lenexa City Council. 
  
  
• Approves final plans, with or without conditions.
