Dumpster Days

Free paper shredding at Dumpster Days

Have sensitive documents laying around? Protect your identity by shredding your files for free at Lenexa’s Dumpster Days event.

The City is partnering with Midwest Shredding Service, LLC, to offer free document shredding on Saturday, April 6, from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Residents can bring documents in bags or boxes to the Municipal Services Service Center (7700 Cottonwood St., Lenexa KS 66215). Documents can contain paper clips, staples and binder clips but must be free of plastic binders and metal hanging folders.

Midwest Shredding will provide Certificate of Destruction handouts and return any containers. Shredding is for paper only. Electronics, CDs and DVDs not accepted. Proof of residency required at the gate.

Trash haulers in Lenexa are required to offer their customers one curbside collection of bulky items each calendar year. Contact your trash hauler to schedule this pickup.

Trash requirements

If you are a Lenexa resident, you can also dispose of bulky items at our Dumpster Days event, which is held two weekends each year. You will be asked to show proof of residency (such as a driver’s license or utility bill showing a current Lenexa address).
