October 9, 2022
2-5 p.m.
Black Hoof Park

Theater on the Trail is a unique event that combines live theater with a leisurely paced walk in one of Lenexa's most beautiful parks. Enjoy fresh air and exercise while also taking in a fun performance with your family and friends!

This year's Theater on the Trail will be a community theater opportunity involving local volunteer actors. The play is "Twain's Tails," based on the short stories of Mark Twain, adapted by David Taylor London and directed by Jason Coats.

The performance will be held on Sunday, Oct. 9 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at Black Hoof Park, 9053 Monticello Rd. Admission is free. Attendees will meet at the Stonewall Shelter and walk as a group to the location of the first scene of the play. After the first scene, attendees will pack up their belongings, and the volunteer cast will guide the walk to the next scene, and so on. Special craft activity for children: Kids will have the opportunity to create a puppet that will be used in a portion of the performance. Attendees should wear comfortable clothes and shoes, bring a lawn chair or blanket, and be prepared to walk about 2 miles.

CASTING CALL - We are looking for volunteer community actors! Open auditions will take place in August. Online audition option is open August 1-12, and in person auditions will take place on Saturday, August 6, from 2-4:30 p.m. at the Lenexa City Hall Community Forum. Signing up in advance for the live audition is appreciated, but not required.
