With hundreds of acres of parks and open spaces in Lenexa, there are numerous outdoor recreation opportunities in our community. We encourage you to take advantage of the recreational amenities available to you and your family.

Activities

Enhance your outdoor experience through our popular offerings:

  • Playground Passport - Visit each playground and complete the secret puzzle to earn a prize.

  • I Like Lenexa App - download the free app to get information on each of our outdoor amenities, learn about upcoming events, check in to parks and playgrounds, and complete achievements to earn points and prizes.

  • Geocaching - Place a geocache in Lenexa parks. View Geocaching Guidelines (PDF)

Athletic Fields

We have athletic fields to rent for a variety of sports games and practices, including baseball, softball, soccer, flag football and lacrosse.

Fishing & Boating

You can fish and use non-gas-powered boats at several of our lakes and ponds during park hours, as long as you possess the appropriate licenses.

Parks

We have 33 parks with various amenities for your enjoyment. Browse our park directory to find the location of your next family outing.

Sports Courts

Spend the afternoon outside enjoying one of our outdoor courts or courses, including basketball, disc golf, horseshoes, roller hockey, pickleball, sand volleyball, skateboarding, sledding and tennis.

Trails

We maintain more than 32 miles of trails for biking and hiking. You can enjoy varied scenery through heavily wooded areas, open prairie and along lakes and ponds.
