The Lenexa Lazers Swim and Dive Team is a recreational program that will teach athletes skill and technique while providing a fun, safe and team-oriented atmosphere. The coaching staff is dedicated to the swimmers’ development, and encourages hard work and a positive attitude in practice, meets, in the water and out. The program is guided and directed by city representatives and a volunteer advisory board, comprised of parent volunteers, coaches, a swimmer representative and a diving representative.

Sections
The Lenexa Lazers is for youth ages 5 to 18 years and is divided into three sections:
Pre-competitive swim team
This program is not a substitute for swim lessons. Your child must be between 5 and 13 years old as of June 1, 2023, to be eligible.
They will be coached in stroke technique, but they should have general knowledge of freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke. Your child should have completed swim lessons and be able to swim freestyle competently for 25 yards with their face in the water and without touching the bottom of the pool.
Practices are generally Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings. Meets are held on Saturday mornings.
Competitive swim team
Your child must be between 7 and 18 years old as of June 1, 2023, and must be proficient at swimming the length of a 50-meter pool using freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke.
Practices are generally Monday through Friday mornings. Meets are held on Thursday evenings.
Competitive dive team
This program is not a substitute for diving lessons. Your child must be between 5 and 18 years old by June 1, 2023, and be able to enter the water head first. They will need to perform three competitive dives to compete in the league.
Practices are generally Monday through Friday mornings. Meets are held on Tuesday evenings.
Registration and fees
Registration opens March 31, 2023.

Late fees will be assessed after 5 p.m. on May 5, 2023.

We will give refunds until June 1, 2023, and will charge a $5 service fee.

Multiple-child discount available for three or more children within the same immediate family. Must register in person.

- In person at Lenexa Rec Center, 17201 W. 87th St. Pkwy. Hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
