Skate Park Reconstruction and Parking Improvements

Project Description

Lenexa’s skate park relocation and reconstruction was identified as part of the Parks Master Plan and has been a high priority project for many years.

The skate park is over 20 years old and the surface has deteriorated significantly. The parking lot that serves this skate park, tennis courts and roller hockey rink is set up poorly and limited in space. This project will reconfigure the lot to accommodate more parking stalls, better traffic flow, and safer pedestrian movements.

The skate park’s new design will be driven by community input to meet a wide range of recreational level usage. It will provide a safe environment for people of all ages and abilities to meet and share experiences through action sports (skateboarding, BMX, scooters, wheelchairs and inline skating). Whether you're ready to kick-flip, grind, grab or just ride, Lenexa’s reconstructed skate park will be ready by fall 2023.
