Lenexa Lazers Swim and Dive Team

Lenexa’s precompetitive and competitive swim and dive team helps build kids’ confidence, camaraderie and skill in the water. This summer program is open to ages 5–18. Register to join the Lazers family by May 6 for the lowest rate.

Lenexa Freedom Run

Kick off Independence Day with an early morning 5K or 10K run in Old Town. Runners, walkers and strollers are welcome. Register by May 31 for the lowest rate.

Community Days Parade

This classic parade winds its way through historic Old Town, and we’re on the lookout for inspired parade entries — especially floats. Incorporate “Good Ol’ Summertime” or a patriotic July 4 theme in your parade design, and you just might win an award! Submit entries by June 15.

Moonlight Bike Ride

Cyclists decked out with glowing apparel and creatively decorated bikes embark on a special closed-course, nighttime ride from Old Town through the Meritex caves. This event is a favorite for families. Stick around for a tasty pancake breakfast afterwards. Register by July 1 for the lowest rate.

Tiny Tot Triathlon

Kids ages 3–9 years old will bike, get wet, run and go down an inflatable slide on their way to the finish line in picturesque Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park. And everyone wins a medal! Space is limited, so register early.

Spinach Festival

We are looking for art, fine craft and antique vendors to participate in our annual Spinach Festival. This popular family-oriented event draws about 7,000 people each year for a fun day of shopping, food, music, history, entertainment and hands-on activities. Apply for a booth space by June 30 for the lowest rate.
