The Kitchen at Lenexa Public Market with tables, chairs and an stove rangeLove to play with your food? Try taking a cooking class in The Kitchen at the Lenexa Public Market. Our merchants aren’t open until Sept. 1, but cooking classes are already underway.

Learn about meal-prep techniques for busy schedules, how to eat healthy on a budget, using a cast-iron skillet or pressure cooker, and even how to make classic French desserts. Got a budding food enthusiast at home? There are also some hands-on classes designed especially for kids age 7–11.

Instructors include Ronda’s Cooking, Nora Kaschube and K-State Research and Extension Johnson County. Fees for classes currently scheduled are $25–$39.

The Kitchen is located on the mezzanine level of the Lenexa Public Market. During cooking classes this month, you’ll get an exclusive sneak peek of the market hall down below while that space is under construction. In addition to hosting classes, the versatile Kitchen will be used for hands-on demonstrations, popup restaurants, samplings, common area seating, and private events.
