Wondering if your May issue of TownTalk got lost in the mail?

TownTalk, the City of Lenexa’s resident magazine and recreation program guide, is usually mailed to all Lenexa households six times a year. In normal circumstances, residents would have received the May issue in late April. Due to the rapidly evolving circumstances at the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, we decided to skip the May issue.

We plan to publish a new issue early this summer to help you catch up with City news and the changes that virus mitigation efforts are bringing to City facilities, programs and services.

There are many ways you can keep up with the latest Lenexa news, and we encourage you to rely on these sources for the most up-to-date information and guidance:

  • The City of Lenexa’s official social media accounts include FacebookTwitterInstagram and Nextdoor. We post frequently on these platforms, and they are a great resource to keep up with rapidly changing circumstances as we continue to respond to the COVID-19 crisis.

  • We also host several specialty pages and groups on social media:

  • The Lenexa Police Department is on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

  • The Lenexa Fire Department is on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

  • The Lenexa Farmers Market has a Facebook group.

  • The Lenexa Public Market is on FacebookTwitter and Instagram.

  • The Lenexa Rec Center is on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

  • Lenexa offers a variety of e-newsletters that are targeted to specific interests:

  • My Lenexa News is published on the first and third Wednesdays of each month and features the most current, relevant stories from all City departments.

  • Parks and Recreation News offers a more in-depth look at parks news and recreation programs and activities. It’s published on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month.

  • Public Market News provides the latest updates on what products our merchants are offering. Many are still serving carry-out options!

  • Farmers Market News is your best resource for navigating the ever-changing seasonal offerings and current operations of the Lenexa Farmers Market.

  • Road Closure Alerts are sent each time a road construction or right-of-way project will impact Lenexa traffic.

  • Rec Center News helps you stay on top of current Rec Center programs, activities and facility changes.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we’re also keeping our Coronavirus Updates page up to date with information on stay-at-home orders, social distancing measures and other public health orders and recommendations.

During these uncertain times, make sure you’re getting accurate news about the City of Lenexa’s policies and services by relying on these official communications tools.
