Johnson County Developmental Supports Emerging Artists

Jerry Lobato, bronze sculptures (Big dogs, Big dreams) 

Johnson County Developmental Supports' Emerging Artists Program consists of adult artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are passionate and driven to create artwork. View the work of 16 artists in varying stages of artistic development. Acrylic is the most used medium in the studio, but some also use watercolor, colored pencils, fiber arts, ceramics, woodworking and sculpture. Art is available for purchase and supports the artists.

Jerry Lobato’s “Big Dogs, Big Dreams” bronze sculpture show will also be on display. Jerry has been creating Great Dane artwork for more than 35 years.

Join us at an artists' reception on Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Lenexa City Hall Art Gallery. JCDS will also offer an Art Talk at 6:30 p.m.
