Field use policies

When you reserve a field, you assume responsibility for any damage to the fields during their use. Use your best judgment when determining the playability of an athletic field to ensure the continued health of the turf, sustainability of the field throughout the season, and user safety. Do not play on an athletic field if any part of the field becomes unsafe for field users or if conditions exist where use will cause damage to the field, such as:

  • standing water present on any part of the field that cannot be removed without causing damage to the field
  • muddy conditions that will not dry by the start of the game
  • when water can be seen or heard with a footstep while walking on the field
  • when any impression of a footprint is left in the surface while walking on the field of play
  • if water gathers around the sole of a shoe or boot on any portion of the field

Reservation cancellations

Cancellation of the reservation must be made in person at the LPRD Customer Service Desk, or in writing sent via e-mail or fax to the LPRD. In the event of such cancellation, the Renter understands and agrees to the following terms regarding the rental fee.

  • 15 days or more prior to the Reservation: In the event of such cancellation, the Renter understands and agrees that the Rental Fee will be refunded in its entirety if the Renter cancels the reservation at least 15 days prior to the reservation date. The credit card used to pay for the reservation will be refunded within five (5) business days of receipt of Renter’s cancellation or, as applicable, a check sent to the Renter within twenty-eight (28) business days.
  • 14 days or fewer prior to the Reservation: If Renter attempts to cancel a reservation less than two (2) weeks before the scheduled event, there will be no refunds, credits, or reschedules, except as otherwise determined by the sole discretion of City Staff. Renter must notify the City within two (2) business days following the date of the Reservation if Renter desires to reschedule due to inclement weather. For purposes of this agreement, “inclement weather” will typically mean weather that is severe or unsafe, not merely undesirable. Determination of whether “inclement weather” exists shall be within the sole discretion of the City.
