Property Maintenance
In our Community Standards Division, we are responsible for ensuring our community stay beautiful by enforcing property maintenance codes. As a resident, you are responsible for making sure you comply with these codes.
Common residential code violations
- Trash and recycling container storage: You must store all trash, recycling and yard waste behind the building line or inside your garage. If you keep it outside, you must store it in a container with a lid.
- Exterior maintenance: You must maintain your home in an acceptable condition. You may not have peeling paint, rotten wood, fences in disrepair or broken windows or doors.
- Nuisances: You may not keep items considered a nuisance. This includes appliances, excessive trash or waste, items not manufactured for outdoor use, or anything that causes a foul or unhealthy odor.
- Driveway and walkway: Your driveway and walkways should be in good repair and be free from hazardous conditions.
- Pools: Pools must be kept in a clean, sanitary condition and in good repair or covered with a tight-fitting cover.
- Address: Your address numbers should be visible from the street.
- Fences: Your fences must be kept in good repair; if surrounding a pool, gates must work as intended and be self-latching.
- Gutters: Your gutters should be kept free of debris and vegetation so that they function as intended.
