The City of Lenexa has developed a Property Tax Rebate Program to provide tax relief to Lenexa homeowners who meet certain criteriaThe program is intended to reduce the tax burden resulting from rising home values. It offers a rebate for the City’s share of a homeowner's property taxes.

Applications will be accepted Aug. 1–Oct. 31, 2026.

Learn more and ask questions at an Open House on Sept. 8, 2026, from 1–6 p.m. at Lenexa Old Town Activity Center.

How the program works

The Property Tax Rebate Program has been allocated $100,000 for fiscal year 2026.

Every eligible applicant will receive a property tax rebate equal to a proportional share of available funds — up to 75% of the City’s share of the homeowner’s property tax bill. The amount each applicant will be reimbursed depends on the total number of eligible applications. But the City anticipates rebates will range from approximately $500 to $1,000.

This is not a first-come, first-served program. All applications will be considered after the Oct. 31, 2026, deadline.
