The city clerk serves as the official custodian of City records and the City seal. They provide support services to the City Council and respond to requests for information and records.

The city manager, appointed by the mayor and City Council, is the chief administrative officer of the City. They are responsible for professional management of the organization.

The Communications Department is responsible for providing relevant, accurate and timely information about City projects, issues and events.

The Community Development Department provides services related to building and construction, public construction projects, traffic operations, licensing, permits, property maintenance enforcement, planning and zoning.

The Finance Department provides effective stewardship of public funds through the timely and efficient delivery of financial services to citizens, the business community and City government.

The Fire Department provides life and property safety protection, emergency medical services, and fire prevention outreach and training.

The Human Resources Department supports employees in their collective mission to provide exceptional service to our community by attracting and retaining a high-quality, diverse, equitable and inclusive workforce.

The Information Technology Department manages the City's technology systems, networks and equipment to help keep City services secure, reliable and running smoothly for the community.

The Legal Department provides advice and legal opinions to City officials and staff, as well as prosecutes violations of the City Code.

Municipal Court provides an accessible local forum for fair, efficient, professional and effective disposition of all matters within its jurisdiction.

The Municipal Services Department is responsible for maintaining Lenexa's public infrastructure including streets, street signs, traffic lights, buildings, stormwater facilities, vehicle fleet, and snow and ice removal.

The Parks & Recreation Department enhances Lenexans' quality of life through parks, green spaces, recreational programs, festivals and amenities.

The Police Department provides all elements of law enforcement to the community.
