Building notifications
The following guidelines help ensure everyone’s safety and create an enjoyable environment.
- A valid membership or a paid daily admission fee is required for all patrons to access the fitness area and classes, pool and gymnasium (includes non-swimmers and spectators).
- Single day passes are valid for the day of purchase only.
- Kid Zone child watch service is open to children ages 6 weeks to 11 years old.
- Children age 3 and older who are not covered under a valid membership must purchase a day pass to use the facility.
- Children must be at least 12 years old to be allowed in the Lenexa Rec Center unsupervised.
- Youth ages 12–15 must complete a youth equipment orientation in order to use fitness equipment, indoor track, gymnasiums or attend fitness classes.
Youth waiver
Parents/guardians must be present to sign a release of liability form(PDF, 42KB) for the initial visit of any youth age 12–17 who uses the facility unaccompanied by an adult. The release of liability waiver will be in effect for one year. During the initial visit, a household account will be created with parent contact information in case of an emergency.

Indoor pool
Ages 8 and younger: An adult age 18 or older must be in the Rec Center, and the child must be directly and responsibly supervised by someone age 14 or older, unless child is part of a program.
Ages 9–11: An adult age 18 or older must be in the Rec Center, unless child is part of a program.
Caregiver access
Need a caregiver to assist you at the Rec Center? Please request ADA accommodations before your initial visit. Once approved, your caregiver will be allowed access at no charge when you visit the facility.

The facility is easily accessible from Interstate 435. Exit I-435 from 87th Street Parkway and head west to Winchester Street.
Free parking is available on street or in the five-story civic campus parking garage. Enter the garage from Winchester Street or 88th Street (via Penrose Lane).
RideKC provides bus service to the civic campus via Route 487 and Route 495 at 87th Street Parkway and Scarborough Street.
Bicycle parking is available on the civic campus. A RideKC Bike hub is also located along Winchester Street just west of the Rec Center.
A single day pass provides unlimited access to all open Lenexa Rec Center amenities — including the fitness floor, gymnasiums, indoor pool and Group X fitness classes. We do not sell separate passes to specific areas of the facility, such as the pool. For an additional fee, you can purchase other programs and services.
Ages 18 and older require a driver's license for entry.

- Lenexa Rec Center members can purchase a monthly unlimited pass for their child. Prepay annually or get auto-billed on the 20th of the month.
- X Pass members receive a 10% discount.

Students ages 18+ with a valid student ID can purchase a school break pass during summer and winter breaks. It can be used up to 30 days from the date of purchase.
