To receive an engineering permit, you must:
A land disturbance permit allows you to begin moving material (soil, rock, clearing and grubbing, etc.) and accounts for the erosion control necessary on your site.
With a site development permit, you can move material and construct exterior items such as storm piping, curbing, paving, lighting, landscaping and detention basins.
Right-of-way permits are required for all work in the public right of way, with a few exceptions.
If you are doing work in areas that contain high hazard zones (floodplains), as identified by FEMA, you need a floodplain development permit.
If you are constructing city infrastructure projects such as public storm systems, public streets and curbs, turn lanes and street lights, you need a public improvement permit.
