The “Olathe – The City Beautiful” film series began in 2009 with the debut of "The Bricklayer." Join the Olathe Historical Society for a look at their journey documenting the history of Olathe through film, including two short documentary screenings.
Featured films include "The Bricklayer," which tells the remarkable story of James Garfield Brown, who set a world record in 1925 by laying more than 40,000 bricks in a single day, and a documentary exploring how the completion of the Kansas City/Olathe Highway shaped the development of the Johnson County region.
Presented by Bob Courtney from the Olathe Historical Society.
Please bring your own lunch. Dessert provided by the Lenexa Historical Society and Lenexa Convention & Visitors Bureau.
