The Lenexa Police Department is partnering with Johnson County Mental Health Center for a free community event to bring Lenexa families together to raise awareness about the dangers of fake pills and fentanyl and help navigate youth mental health challenges.
Schedule
About Connected Conversations Connected Conversations is a Johson County Mental Health Center led program designed to spark meaningful conversations between middle school and high school students and their parents or guardians around mental health or substance use topics. Students and parents come to the event together, share a meal and hear presentations from officers and mental health professionals with insights on how fentanyl is impacting our community. Families then engage in interactive, supportive conversations that promote more open communication, stronger connections and healthier decision-making.
Note: This program includes discussion of fentanyl, substance use and other sensitive topics. The content is intended for parents, caregivers and youth of an appropriate age and is not suitable for young children.
