What time should I arrive on race day?
The race begins promptly at 7 a.m., so you should allow plenty of time for parking and packet pickup. We recommend arriving no later than 6:30 a.m.
Can someone else pick up my packet for me?
Family or friends are allowed to pick up your packet for you. They will need to provide your last name for verification.
Where do I park?
You can park in the Lenexa Community Center lot and on various streets in the Old Town area. Please refer to our road closure map(PDF, 111KB) when deciding where to park, as many streets are blocked off in preparation for the parade following the race.
Where are the starting and finish lines?
The starting line is located on the north side of the train tracks in Old Town, just east of Santa Fe Trail Drive and Pflumm Road.
The finish line is located at 93rd Street and Pflumm Road, south of the Lenexa Community Center.
What are the courses like?
Both the 5K and 10K courses are certified and marked at the 1-, 2-, 3-, 4-, 5-, and 6-mile marks. The courses overlap, and the split for the 10K course is at the 2.7-mile marker on Santa Fe Trail Drive at 95th Street.
We provide water sprays at several locations throughout the course and water aid stations at three locations:
- 99th Street and Alden Street
- West of Santa Fe Trail Drive on 95th Street
- Finish line
Restrooms are provided in three locations:
- Start line
- Alden Street and Santa Fe Trail Drive
- Finish line
Do I have to choose between the 5K and 10K course ahead of time?
Yes. You must choose your distance when you register. You may change your distance before the race but not during or after the race. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the course before your run it and follow the arrows and signs.
How is the event timed?
Your race bib contains an electronic chip, which will be used for results and timing. Electronic pads are located at the start and finish line.
Do I need to wear my numbered bib?
Yes. Your electronic timing chip is located in your bib, and we use the bib numbers to identify registered runners for pictures and other backup information.
If your bib number does not correspond with your timing chip or computer time printout, please notify us immediately so we can make those corrections.
What if it rains?
We will hold the race in the rain. If the weather becomes unsafe (severe weather, thunderstorms, etc.), we reserve the right to postpone or cancel the race.
May I run/walk with my dog or baby stroller?
We do not allow dogs, other than service animals.
You are welcome to run or walk with a baby stroller, but please stay near the back of the pack to ensure everyone’s safety.
When are results posted?
We post the race results as soon as they are available after the race. You can also request a personal printout at the finish line. We post results to our website within two hours of the completion of the race.
How do I find my finish line photo?
We will have finish line photos available within one week of the race. The photo results will match your gun time, rather than the electronic chip time.
