When it’s time for your tree to come down, it can still serve a good purpose. We offer two convenient, eco-friendly options to dispose of your live Christmas tree.

Christmas tree drop-off

Lenexa residents can drop off natural evergreen trees, wreaths and garlands at the Little Mill Creek Park parking lot between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Dec. 26, 2024, through Jan. 13, 2025. Remove all decorations, nails and plastic bags first.

Parks staff will use your discarded greenery to make compost for landscaping and gardens around the city.

Christmas tree pickup

We partner with local Boy Scout Troop 186 for a convenient holiday tree pickup service. Trees will be disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.

You can schedule a pickup at Troop186.org for Dec. 28 and 29, 2024, or Jan. 4 and 5, 2025. Have your tree at the curb by 9 a.m. on your scheduled day. The Scouts request a $10 donation.
