After nearly 30 years of service to the Lenexa community, City Manager Beccy Yocham has announced her intent to retire. She will continue serving as city manager until her successor is selected and begins work.

Under the direction of Mayor Julie Sayers, the Lenexa Governing Body will conduct a nationwide search for the City’s next manager. Additional details about the search process will be shared soon.

“We are deeply grateful for Beccy’s decades of dedicated service to Lenexa,” Mayor Julie Sayers said. “Her thoughtful, steady leadership has helped shape our community and strengthen the organization for our employees. She is a valued and respected leader whose impact will be felt in Lenexa for many years to come.”

Appointed by the City Council, the city manager works closely with elected officials to establish and advance the community’s goals while overseeing the City’s professional staff and day-to-day operations.

Yocham became Lenexa’s fourth city manager in 2019. During her career with the City, she also served as director of Community Development and deputy city attorney.

She played a central role in the development of Lenexa City Center and has helped guide a period of record economic investment throughout the community. As city manager, she has strengthened the organization by recruiting highly qualified members of the City’s management team and setting a clear strategic direction for major projects, community priorities and the City’s continued growth.

The City will provide updates as the search for Lenexa’s next city manager moves forward.
