Donate bandages. Make a big difference

A colorful bandage might seem like a little thing — but for kids facing cancer, it can bring comfort, boost confidence and even spark a smile.
That idea inspired 6-year-old Noah Wilson after his diagnosis with Ewing sarcoma. Tired of plain bandages during treatment, he imagined something better — and created Noah’s Bandage Project, a nonprofit that collects fun, kid-friendly bandages while raising funds and awareness for childhood cancer.
To Noah, each bandage became more than a necessity — it was a badge of courage, a way to express personality and a small piece of joy during difficult days. Though he passed away in 2015, his impact lives on through children who receive these simple, meaningful gifts.
From July 1–Aug. 7, 2026, you can help make a difference by donating boxes of fun, colorful bandages at any of the following Lenexa locations:
You can also give online. Just $2 covers the cost of one box of bandages, and all funds support pediatric cancer research.
This campaign is led by the City of Lenexa’s We Care Committee, a team of employees from every City department who organize events throughout the year to support local nonprofit organizations.
