If you haven’t completed all required items before your commercial Temporary Certificate of Occupancy expires, you can apply for an extension.
The general contractor or an authorized agent must apply for the Temporary Certificate of Occupancy Extension.
You will be asked to list outstanding deficiencies that were noted from the most recent inspection, as well as how long you need to complete the outstanding items.

Once we receive and have processed your completed application, City staff will notify you via email that an application fee is ready to be paid in our application and permit portal.

Temporary Certificate of Occupancy Extension applications are processed within one business day and then routed to Building staff for review. If they need any clarifications or have questions, they will get in touch with the person who submitted the application.
We will send you an email outlining the status of your request.
After the fee has been collected, we will issue a new Temporary Certificate of Occupancy document and email it to you for your signature. Once you have signed and returned the document, you will have a new valid Temporary Certificate of Occupancy.
Please make note of the new expiration date. If you do not complete the deficiencies and request an inspection prior to the new expiration date, you must request another extension.
