The need

The asphalt surrounding the roundabouts on Clare Road between 83rd Street and Prairie Star Parkway are experiencing premature deterioration, resulting in ongoing maintenance needs.

The improvements

In the Clare Road Infrastructure Improvements Project, the City of Lenexa is investing in a more durable, long-term solution by:

Reconstructing the pavement portion of the roundabouts, replacing asphalt with concrete.
Repaving the remaining asphalt portions of Clare Road outside of the roundabouts.
Upgrading the east-side sidewalk to a 10-foot trail connecting Prairie Star Parkway to Wild Bill Hickok Park.
Repairing curb, sidewalk and brick pavers as necessary.

Project open house

City staff and consultant Walter P Moore are finalizing plans and coordinating with utilities.

Attend a public open house on Monday, March 23, 2026, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Join us to learn more about the project design, construction phasing and schedule. This is a come-and-go event. There will be no formal presentation.
