Consistent access to a live burn training facility provides Lenexa firefighters with a safe environment to conduct realistic training in a controlled setting. A permanent training center will foster skill development, enhance operational readiness and ultimately improve response outcomes in emergency situations.
The project will design a multistory fire training facility that simulates both commercial and residential structures. It will also master plan the entire site for future public safety training amenities.
The facility will be designed to accommodate various fire and technical rescue training evolutions under realistic incident conditions. It will incorporate Class A (wood and straw) and/or Class B (propane) fuel sources to facilitate live burn training scenarios.
