Sidewalk & Trail Repair Program (ongoing)

The Sidewalk & Trail Repair Program repairs existing deteriorated sidewalks and connects missing sidewalk gaps throughout the city. Through targeted repairs and expansion, the program will create a more cohesive and walkable environment for Lenexa. 

Specific projects are identified annually. Work is anticipated to start in late spring. Weather permitting, it will finish in the fall.

Connect sidewalk gaps in these locations:

• North side of 79th Street west of Lackman Road
• East side of Greenwood Street north of College Boulevard
• South side of Lenexa Drive south of 95th Street

The project will also repair damaged trails and sidewalks throughout the city.

Current status

February 2026: Design is currently underway for these projects. They will be advertised for bid in the coming weeks, with others bidding later this spring. All work is scheduled to be completed in 2026.
