Project purpose

This program provides ongoing funding to replace a number of older streetlights in the City annually. The current average cost to replace a streetlight and pole is approximately $10,000.


Project description

Replace older streetlights with new modern energy efficient lights that meet current City standards. The project also provides matching funds for street lighting projects receiving Community Development Block Grant funding annually. Specific projects are identified annually.

  • Strang Line Road Street Lighting and Storm Drainage Improvements – College Boulevard to south city limits – under design
  • 2025 Community Development Block Grant Street Lighting Project – Park Street, Candlelight Lane and Widmer Road – out for bid with construction to take place this spring/summer
  • Brighton Subdivision Storm Drainage Improvements – beginning construction
  • 2026 Community Development Block Grant Street Lighting Project – Marshall Drive and 98th Street – under design
  • Seven Hills Lake Watershed Project – Phases 1 and 2 – under design
  • Marshall Drive – 87th Street to 95th Street – under design
  • Small-scale street lighting project – Swarner & 92nd, Country Hill Court, Long Road
