Fire Extinguisher Training

We provide free fire extinguisher training to companies, organizations, and groups. A member of our Public Education Committee will come to your location to provide practical hands-on training. Classroom lecture with an informational video is available if requested. 

We use a state-of-the-art augmented reality (AR) fire extinguisher training tool — FiAR — that provides hands-on experience. The mobility of the FiAR extinguisher provides a personalized experience and active feedback during the simulation.

The time required for this indoor-only training is 30–45 minutes for an average class size of 20–30 participants.

To schedule a training, use the Fire Department Event Request Form below. Training is available Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Requests for training outside of these hours must be reviewed and approved by the Prevention Division. If you have questions, please call 913.477.7990.
